Program 08 · Sector context

A supply chain analyst at a steel plant and one at a D2C brand do different jobs.

Functional training teaches the skill. Industry training teaches the context the skill is used in - the vocabulary, the metrics, the regulations, the systems. Eight sectors, each with the functional tracks that sector actually hires for.

01 Who this is for

For institutions whose region has a dominant industry.

A campus in Pune places into automotive. One in Hyderabad places into pharma and GCCs. One in Visakhapatnam places into ports, energy and steel. Generic training ignores that; this does not.

Dean / Director

Aligned to your placement geography

Training weighted toward the industries that actually recruit on your campus, rather than a national average.

Industry partner

Candidates who speak the language

Students arrive knowing the sector’s metrics, systems and compliance context - shortening the ramp after joining.

Student

Context that survives the interview

Knowing what a plant, a branch, a refinery or a warehouse actually measures is what separates a prepared candidate from a trained one.

The Industry Specific Bootcamp tab in the master sheet duplicates the New-Age Bootcamp tab verbatim, so this page is assembled from other documents the same team authored: the industry columns of the core-engineering scope and the sector modules of the Andhra Pradesh AI skills work. The eight sectors and their track mappings are a considered draft, not signed-off scope.

02 The map

Eight sectors and the tracks that fit each.

Assembled from the industry columns of the core-engineering scope and the sector modules of our AI skills work. Confirm against your recruiter mix before scoping.

This mapping is a working draft assembled from our own delivery documents. It has not yet been signed off by the delivery team - treat sector weightings as a starting point for scoping, not a published catalogue.

03 Why context is a separate skill

Four things a sector track adds.

Vocabulary

Yield, OEE and takt time in manufacturing. NIM, CASA and slippage in banking. AUM and TAT in asset management. Load factor and PLF in power. Interviewers use these words assuming candidates know them.

Metrics that decide bonuses

Every sector optimises something specific. Knowing what a plant head, a branch manager or a category manager is measured on changes how a candidate frames every answer.

Systems and standards

SAP modules in manufacturing, core banking systems in BFSI, GxP and regulatory frameworks in pharma, Primavera in EPC, marketplace seller consoles in e-commerce.

Regulation and compliance

HSE in process industries, RBI norms in banking, clinical and regulatory frameworks in pharma, ESG disclosure requirements across large corporates. These are hiring filters, not background reading.

Applied AI, by sector

The AI-by-function modules are rebuilt per sector - financial commentary and sentiment analysis for BFSI, demand estimation and SOP generation for operations, campaign and persona work for consumer businesses, all using freely available tools.

05 How it’s delivered

Your calendar sets the rhythm. We fit it.

Scoped per campus against your actual recruiter mix, then delivered as sector-weighted versions of the functional and technical bootcamps - same trainers, same assessment engine, sector-specific casework and vocabulary.

01Personalize

Career Discovery Test, diagnostics, AI baseline.

02Upskill

Coach-led + self-paced across 40+ careers.

03Last-mile

Company-specific prep, GD-PI, mocks.

04Place

Employer outreach and placement management.

05Measure

Live RAG and skill-gap dashboards.

Every engagement runs on the InfyLearn suite - white-labelled LMS, AI-proctored assessments, placement management, AI resume builder and AI video mock interviews - so training, testing and placement data sit in one place your team can audit.

06 Endorsements

From the people who own the outcome.

The difference was specificity: company-wise test patterns, DSA depth, and weekly dashboards. Our placement numbers didn’t inch up - they tripled.

07 Questions deans ask

Straight answers.

Is this a separate program or a different flavour of the bootcamps?
A different flavour, deliberately. The skill content is shared with the functional and technical catalogues; what changes is the casework, vocabulary, metrics and compliance context. Building it as a separate parallel catalogue would duplicate content and dilute quality.
How do you decide which sectors to run for our campus?
From your last three years of recruiter data and your region’s industry base. Most campuses have two or three dominant sectors and a long tail; we weight training to the dominant ones.
Can this work for a government or state skills initiative?
Yes - we have scoped exactly that, including a statewide AI-skills model built around embedding credit-bearing modules in existing degree programs, apprenticeship-integrated final years co-designed with employers, and an impact-monitoring cell tracking employment conversion against NSQF and AICTE frameworks.
Why is this page marked as a draft?
Because the source tab in our delivery team’s master sheet duplicated another service by mistake. The sector map above is assembled from other documents they authored, and we are holding it as a draft until they confirm the weightings. We would rather flag that than publish something that looks authoritative and is not.
What is the minimum viable scope?
One sector, one functional track, one cohort - usually run as a pilot alongside the standard placement program so the two can be compared on the same batch.
